While assisting my parents and in-laws with their medical appointments, I at times sensed their vulnerability and saw the quiet worry on their faces as they sought treatment that would return them to good health. In certain instances, I recognized anxiety, uncertainty, and perhaps fear weighing on them as they tried to understand and deal with their circumstances. At those times, I realized just how much calm, caring, and capable support meant to them, how good it felt to provide it, and how grateful they were to receive it.

While my experience may have been brief compared to that of other caregivers, the realization that my elders didn’t just need a ride or the company- but rather real care, support, and security- made a deep and lasting impression on me. I felt strongly then, as I do now, that seniors- many of whom have spent much of their lives taking care of others- deserve to feel safe, secure, and cared for while looking after their own health and wellbeing.

I was also influenced by the importance my elders placed on visiting with us, attending our gatherings, and events, and spending their days doing things they enjoyed. In addition to appreciating their presence and involvement then, I realize now though my own experience, how much those times meant to them- and how important their health, independence, and connections with family was to everyone.

Before founding GoldenRides®, I spent decades building and leading a business where trust, service, and attention to detail were the cornerstones of our success. Those same values guide every aspect of GoldenRides® - created from a place of genuine caring and responsibility- to make an important difference in the lives of seniors who deserve care, respect, and kindness.
